So I was still at work around 5 in the evening when I get a call from my dad's cell. I knew he, Matt and Michael were supposed to be on their way to the Stake Father/Sons campout so I figured it was Matt just calling to chat because he was bored on the way up or something. My dad was on the line when I answered and at first when he told me they had been in a wreck I thought he was joking. But he proceeded to tell me the details - they had been going down C-470 and were taking the exit to 285. My dad had forgotten how sharp the curve was there and when he tried to slow down his brakes wouldn't work. Then his tire went and so did they down the embankment. The truck is totalled and they were all beat up, scratched and sore, Matt probably worse than any of them, but they are going to be okay. We are so grateful though that they weren't hurt any worse than they were and that no one else was involved in the wreck with them! We have been very blessed!

The Twins Have Arrived!
I am so excited to announce that on May 7 (the day after my birthday - we almost got to share!) Kari had the twins. She went into the labor late the night before and finally had them mid-afternoon on the 7th.

A Beautiful Day for the Park
I love to be outside!
Nikki wanted to go over and play with Hunter after school but I thought since we have had such beautiful weather lately that we should do something outside. I love it when it starts to get warmer but still isn't too hot that you feel like you're melting! Since it was spring break week the school playground was available so we walked down to enjoy the nice afternoon. We all had to take a turn on the swings! Rion only wanted to sit on Kari's lap at first and it was so funny seeing her try to keep him on her lap with the girls taking over like they are - sorry Kari.

Have some cake and eat it too!
Rion's birthday was yesterday. Zack and Nikki had a gift for him but we couldn't drop it off, so we came today. As we were driving over Zack asked me if we were going to have cake and when I told him no he was not pleased. He said you have to have a cake for a birthday party so we had to stop at the store for one. Of course I said yes - I can be a pushover sometimes... At the store Zack had picked out a beautiful oreo cake, that was $16 by-the-way, so I steered him in another direction and we just got whip cream to put on the top. Zack started the fun by shoving his face in his plate and proceeded to lick, literally, his plate clean. You can imagine what everyone else wanted to do too then! Rion was the only one a little more cautious - he only dipped his mouth and nose in and had to wipe it off every time. It was so funny watching the kids and hearing their laughter over the fun time they were having.
She's our little puppy. Doesn't she look like she has a puppy dog face?!

Fun Surprises
The other day I thought it would be fun to fill a 'baby bottle' up with some goodies for Kristin, Kevin and new little Gracie. After searching for quite a while to find plain m & m's - that weren't dark chocolate - Kari finally found some for me. Thanks Kari! The kids of course wanted to help so we dumped out all the candies (we added the red hots just for you Kevin because we know how much you like chocolate) and everyone helped fill the bottle. It was a wild, crazy, fun time! We all loved it! Hunter, Rion and Nikki also had a blast pretending it was a bottle just for them - don't worry Kevin, we washed it for you.

A Holiday!
Wii boxing, golf, baseball...
It's a holiday... at least for the school districts. With all the kids in school it's not very often that they can all get together and play so we definitely took advantage. Michael and Zack began construction on a huge Lego 'house' and played numerous games on the Wii (thank you Kayla for sharing!). Nikki and Hunter had fun playing Legos, Polly Pocket, watching a cartoon and just hanging out. A fun day for all of us...
